Andrea Melloni | Bonsai author

Andrea Melloni has worked with bonsai since 1988. His practice combines cultivation, tree selection, styling and teaching, with a particular interest in Shohin and small bonsai.

He has worked in bonsai centres, prepared trees for exhibitions, led workshops and written for specialist bonsai publications. On Shohin Bonsai, he writes from direct experience with living trees: what their structure shows today, what a particular intervention can change and what may take years to develop.

The articles and guides here reflect his own professional judgement. Bonsai work always depends on species, climate, season and the condition of the individual tree.
